Terms of Service
Last updated: 15 July 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Fintl website and application (the “Service”), operated by [COMPANY](“Fintl”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
1. Acceptance and eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create a Fintl account. By using the Service, you confirm that you meet this requirement and that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. The Service is provided by [COMPANY].
2. About the Service
Fintl is a personal finance management tool that helps you connect your bank accounts, track transactions, set budgets, and work toward savings goals. Fintl is currently in BETA: access is by invitation only, and features, functionality, and pricing may change, be added, or be removed as we continue to develop the product.
3. Not financial advice
Fintl does not provide financial, investment, or tax advice.
Fintl displays and organizes data that belongs to you. It does not provide investment, financial, tax, or legal advice, and nothing in the Service should be treated as a recommendation to buy, sell, save, or invest in any particular way. Automatic categorizations, summaries, and insights are generated for informational purposes only, may be incomplete or contain errors, and should always be verified against your bank’s own records before you rely on them for any financial decision. If you need financial advice, please consult a qualified, licensed professional.
4. Bank connections
Fintl connects to your bank accounts through GoCardless, a third-party provider regulated as an Account Information Service Provider (AISP) under PSD2. You authorize access directly at your bank through GoCardless’s secure flow; Fintl only receives read-only access to your account and transaction data and cannot move money or make payments on your behalf. You can revoke this access at any time, either within Fintl or directly at your bank. We are not responsible for outages, errors, or delays caused by your bank, GoCardless, or any other third-party provider outside our control.
5. Your account and acceptable use
When using Fintl, you agree to:
- Provide accurate registration information and keep it up to date.
- Keep your login credentials confidential; you are responsible for activity under your account.
- Maintain one account per person — family or shared access is provided through Fintl’s own family-sharing feature, not by sharing login credentials.
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the Service’s source code.
- Use automated means to scrape, crawl, or bulk-extract data from the Service.
- Interfere with the Service’s security or normal operation.
6. Intellectual property
The Service, including its design, software, and content (excluding your own data), is owned by [COMPANY] and protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for your personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms. Your data remains yours — by using the Service, you grant us only the limited license necessary to store, process, and display your data in order to operate the Service for you.
7. Availability and liability
We aim to keep the Service available and reliable, but as a beta product, we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. To the fullest extent permitted by law, [COMPANY]’s liability for any claim arising from your use of the Service is limited as permitted by applicable law. Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law, and if you are a consumer in the EU, your statutory rights under national consumer protection law remain fully unaffected by these Terms.
8. Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from Settings > Account > Delete Account. We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, misuse the Service, or where required by law. When your account is deleted — by you or by us — your data is removed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
9. Governing law and dispute resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of [JURISDICTION], without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. If you are a consumer resident in the EU, you also benefit from any mandatory consumer-protection provisions of the law of your country of residence, which take precedence over any conflicting provision in these Terms. EU consumers may also refer disputes to the European Commission’s Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or via an in-app notice before the changes take effect. Continuing to use the Service after the changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
